Families

Family therapy aims to promote the understanding and collaboration among family members in order to solve the problems of one or more individuals.

Teenagers

Individual therapy is helpful through the teenage years to address unique concerns at this stage of life to support them in becoming healthy adults. While parent-caregiver feedback is requested, sessions occur between the teenager and therapist.

Adults

Individual therapy is a collaborative process between the therapist and client that aims to facilitate healthy change and improve quality of life.

Clinical Approach

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy originally developed to process trauma by identifying memories and reprocessing them. The goal is to decrease triggers and decrease overwhelming feelings associated with the trauma. Research has also shown EMDR can be helpful in managing symptoms of depression and anxiety.

When EMDR and attachment work is paired, it can have a lasting effect on how we respond to those in relationship with us. EMDR and play therapy is a helpful way for children to process trauma in a more kid-friendly way.

Brainspotting (BSP) is a trauma therapy which helps to identify access points in the brain where trauma memories are stored to help reprocess and decrease activation of the memories.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapy focused on helping our inner child heal from trauma to help release negative beliefs/patterns of behaviors.

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) focuses on helping reduce emotional symptoms and unhealthy behaviors resulting from trauma.

Emotionally Focused Individual Trauma Therapy (EFIT) is a trauma therapy that helps process emotions based on past traumatic experiences, and is especially helpful when working on childhood trauma. It is a subset from the couples therapy Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT-Couples).

Circle of Security – Parenting (COS-P) is a parenting program to help parents identify the meaning behind their child’s behavior. Simultaneously, parents explore how they were parented in order to gain an awareness of familial parenting patterns. Parents then empower themselves to make different parenting choices.

Reiki is a spiritual Japanese healing technique often referred to as energy healing and works on our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. It works by activating energies within you and around you to help aid in relaxation, stimulate natural healing processes, and restore physical and emotional well-being. Reiki is beneficial on its own or as a wonderful addition to other medical or therapeutic methods. Reiki is not covered by most insurance at this time and, therefore, is not provided during therapy services covered by insurance.
